Reframing Scrap

They wait at the edges of our sight, tucked away behind our living spaces. They are rife with wild and wandering material, waiting to be reclaimed, altered, nurtured. We call them dumps, burn piles, scrap heaps, brush piles. This work is part of a series of proposal projects to address refuse piles. View Slides

The Garden

Several years ago I realized that the images, shapes, and lines I was painting and building, however abstractly, were derived from specific areas in that special oasis my family clan calls simply, “The Garden”. This revelation sent me on a path to explore the qualities of The Garden as a visual and theoretical concept. The result was a book project that was designed to inspire dialogue about this extraordinary space. View Slides

Intellectual Compost

This project considers the amount of paper created in developing ideas. What happens to those shreds of ideas when an individual moves on?
